Dear Carleen,

This is the first missive from my newly reconstituted Mac. In addition to the use of the machine, it is a pleasure to have a series of files to resume projects that were in progress. My indebtedness to Data Retrieval Services for your recovery of those files is inexpressible.

The contents of the hard disk included, but were not limited to: all correspondences, research studies, grant applications current projects, lab reports, and last, but not least, the most complete copy of my thesis. although much of the data was backed up by floppy discs, a significant portion was clearly not available.

The expediency, and efficiency of your efforts, as well as your courtesy to the Shriners Hospital were most appreciated. I have emblazoned my Mac with your reminder to "Back up Your data Daily", and liberally distributed the decals to other users. Thanks again for being a parachute to what might otherwise have been a "crash" landing.
